Get your knit backing done by Sunsilks

Sunsilks has developed its own proprietary custom knit backing process to minimize grain distortions, puckering & bonding separation which are far too common with knit backing done by commercial backing sources. Silk is the most luxurious fabric. However, because it is a natural fiber, silk fabrics have natural variations. Some of the common visual effects are creases, wrinkles, uneven salvage, shading, mis-weave & grain distortions. Sunsilks has developed backing techniques to compensate for fabric’s natural variations to enhance its visual appeal. Sunsilks has also successfully backed fabrics with uneven surface textures like embroidered and beaded silks, which can not be done by conventional methods.

What is knit backing?
Knit backing is bonded to the back of silks & lighter weight fabrics. The knit backing adds body, resiliency and durability to these fabrics, and prevents seam slippage. Knit backing is widely accepted way to reinforce silks and other natural and man made fabrics for upholstery, stretch wall coverings, cornices, duvet covers, quilting, shoe uppers, hand bags & numerous other applications.

The following information is provided to assist you when ordering services.

1. Processing Time and Options:
Following charges and service options are available.
(Sunsilks has right to refuse backing on customer’s fabrics that are not compatible with our equipment. Please inquire and/or send a sample prior to placing order)
Regular Service:
SilkBak Knit Backing (Max width of fabric 60 inch)
(Shipping charges are over and above the knit backing charges)

SilkGard Stain Protection: (no minimum)

SilkWall Non-Woven Backing for Wallpaper: (no minimum)

Knit Backed 8-10 business days from fabric received date.
Wrinkle Removal: $2.00/yd over and above regular service charge
(Sunsilks will inform you if wrinkles removal is required after receiving and inspecting fabric. Sometimes wrinkles are deeply imbedded in fabrics especially silks and can not be removed completely)
Allowance for Shrinkage: 1-3 yds – 3 inch. , 3+ yds – 1 inch per yd.
Measurement: not responsible, under any circumstance for shortages due to incorrect measurement or insufficient shrinkage allowance.
Service Options:

For your convenience, we provide the following expedited service options.

Inspection and Return Fees: $10.00 per roll. Applicable only when fabrics are returned to the customer without any processing due to flaws, spots or defects in the original fabric or returned for any other reason.

Packaging and Handling: $7.00 per package.

2. Purchase Order:
Purchase order should contain the following information.
Customer: Name, Address, Phone, fax, Email, Contact, Billing information.
Ship to: Name, Address, Phone, Fax, Email, Contact, Side Mark (P/O number or usage tag), UPS service (regular or expedited).
Insured value: Max. $100 unless otherwise indicated on PO
Fabric Information: Yardage, Pattern #, Description, Content, Manufacture,
Packaging & Handling: $7.00 per package.

3. Sending Fabric From Supplier to Sunsilks:
Please instruct supplier to clearly mark customer name (company issuing PO to Sunsilks), face of fabric (backing will be applied on the opposite side). Roll fabric ”face in” on a tube (standard practice). Sunsilks can not accept any responsibility for fabrics shipped either reversed or unmarked. If fabric is not marked standard practice of face in on the tube will be assumed

4. Samples Swatch:
Samples are provided so that you can experience finish fabric before your order is processed. We offer 2 options.
Sample Swatch - approx. 8”x10” samples of your fabric at no charge.
Pre Production Sample- up to 1/4 yd $25.00/pattern.

5. Payment Options:
Open Account: Terms are net 30 days to approved accounts. If you would like to establish an account please fill out credit application and fax it to us or send in your own trade/banking reference sheet (please include contact names)
Credit card – VISA and MC. American Express (5% upcharge).
Check – Send prepayment for charges. Include shipping. Please call
We don’t accept COD shipment.

6. Order Tracking:
Once your purchase order is received & all the pertinent information is recorded you can track your order. We will provide you with couriers tracking number after backing & shipping the order.

7. Limited Liability, Terms and Conditions:
Inspect goods carefully upon receipt; claims must be made in writing within 30 days of receipt of fabric. We do not accept responsibility for performance, manufacturing defects and damages due to processing. We disclaim any warranties of merchantability or suitability for a particular purpose. We reserve the right to inspect and reprocess any goods deemed unacceptable by the customer. Returns for reprocessing cannot be considered after material has been cut or fabricated in any way. It is here by agreed that any and all disputes and/or litigation between Sunsilks Inc and Purchases will be governed by the law of the state of GA adjudicated in a court of competent jurisdiction having its sites in the state of GA.
